Alberta Truck Repair Inc., a leading heavy truck and trailer repair facility at the Edmonton International Airport, is expanding its team. We are seeking motivated individuals to fill key roles on our shop floor. We have opportunities for a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyman), a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice, and a Shop Helper / Technician Assistant.
These are full-time, permanent positions offering a stable 40 hour work week in a professional, safety-focused, and supportive environment where you can build a lasting career.
About the Roles:
You will be part of a team ensuring our clients' fleets operate safely and efficiently. We provide clear paths for growth, from learning the fundamentals to mastering complex diagnostics.
General Responsibilities (Vary by Role):
Assist in and perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Support shop operations with tire services, parts handling, and bay organization.
Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Learn and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Position-Specific Requirements:
1. Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
Valid Alberta Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET) Journeyman Certificate.
Proven industry experience.
Valid Alberta CVIP certification is a strong asset.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead tasks and mentor others.
Tooling: Must possess your own full set of tools or we will provide tools.
Valid driver's license; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is an asset.
2. Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice
Registered in or eligible to register in the Alberta HDET Apprenticeship Program (1st-4th Year encouraged to apply).
Basic mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
Basic hand tools.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable and team-oriented.
3. Shop Helper / Technician Assistant
No formal certification required; training will be provided.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
Ability to follow instructions and a keen interest in the trade.
Physically capable of handling shop tasks (lifting, standing, etc.).
Driver's license is an asset.
