We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated caregiver to provide in-home medical and personal care for my son, who has complex pediatric medical needs.

This role involves supporting daily living, managing medical equipment, ensuring safety, and promoting physical, emotional, and developmental well-being in a respectful, family-centered home environment.

Responsibilities:
Provide daily personal care, comfort, and emotional support
Assist with activities of daily living, including:
Bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral care
Mobility support, positioning, and transfers
Operate and monitor feeding pumps and NJ feeding tubes
Administer medications via NJ tube and follow prescribed schedules and safety protocols
Prepare, draw, clean, and sanitize syringes and medical supplies
Manage and monitor oxygen tanks and oxygen delivery systems
Use and maintain medical devices, including:
Homecare suction unit
Portable oxygen saturation monitor
Feeding pump
Safely operate mobility and adaptive equipment, including:
Wheelchair
Activity chair
Rifton bathing seat
Sleep safe bed
Medical stroller
Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
Support client during outings, therapies, and medical appointments as needed
Engage client in meaningful, age-appropriate activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
Monitor health status and recognize early signs of concern
Accurately document care and report changes promptly
Maintain strict adherence to individualized care plans and medical instructions
Follow infection prevention and safety protocols at all times

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Demonstrated experience in pediatric or complex medical care (required)
Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
NJ feeding tubes and feeding pumps
Oxygen therapy and monitoring
Suction equipment
Medication administration via feeding tube
Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills (strong asset)
Previous caregiving experience involving:
Patient care
Special needs support
Home care, assisted living, or healthcare settings (highly preferred)
Ability to work independently and responsibly
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Quick learner able to adapt to evolving routines and care needs
Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 35 lbs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compassionate, calm, and professional demeanor
CPR/First Aid (required or willingness to obtain)
Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
Health & Safety Expectations (Critical Requirement):

Due to client's medical vulnerability, maintaining a low-risk environment is essential.

Must follow strict infection prevention practices
Must not attend work while experiencing illness or symptoms
Must avoid close contact with individuals who are actively ill
Must disclose potential exposures promptly
Must follow hygiene, masking, and sanitization protocols as required
Preference will be given to candidates whose personal circumstances support minimizing exposure to common illnesses
