Webster II - Antique 1915 Serving Utensil: Art Deco-inspired, and sleek handle design in a minimalist style - a precursor to or early example of Art Deco style. A scarce pierced bowl 8½”L x 3”W tomato (or pea) server in the silver-plated Webster II flatware pattern, introduced in 1915 by Simeon L. & George H. Rogers. (stamped: PAT DEC14-15) Back-stamp: HEIRLOOM PLATE
This serving piece is in very good condition with no monograms, with some visible patination and small marks from use over the past 110 years. Could also work as a crab cake server.
Offered for just $35.
Holmes & Edwards: Cold Meat Fork 1916, in the ‘Jamestown’ pattern.
The company was famous for their ‘inlaid’ process, which added extra silver to the points of the utensil that rested on the table, increasing the longevity of the plating. “Solid Silver where it wears”
The back-stamp states only “Holmes & Edwards” even though it was taken over in 1898 by the International Silver Company. (images X and X advertisements from the 1920s)
