Overview
We are a growing startup liquor boutique looking for a sharp, experienced, and proactive Retail Associate. This isn't just a cashier role—we need someone who understands the business side of liquor retail, from market trends to building a commercial client base. If you are a "product geek" who loves talking to suppliers and creating deals that move inventory, we want you.
Responsibilities
* Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
* Provide product information and recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction
* Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
* Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and display areas
* Restock shelves and ensure merchandise is properly labeled and presented
* Address customer inquiries promptly and professionally
* Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and improve store performance
* Uphold company policies and ensure compliance with safety standards
* Customer Excellence: Provide top-tier service to walk-ins and actively recruit/manage commercial/corporate accounts (e.g., restaurants, offices, event planners).
* Inventory Management: Perform regular stock updates and ensure Clover inventory levels are 100% accurate.
* Market Analysis: Monitor local Limited Time Offers (LTOs) and competitor pricing in Calgary NW to ensure we stay competitive.
* Merchandising & Promotions: Proactively create in-store "bundle deals" and weekly offers.
* Supplier Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for supplier reps; negotiate floor displays and stay informed on new launches.
* Compliance: Strictly enforce ID checks and maintain AGLC ProServe standards at all times.
Skills
* Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or other languages are a plus
* Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when needed
* Good organizational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
* Positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for helping customers

* Experience: 1–2 years of proven experience in liquor retail (Required).
* Certification: Valid Alberta ProServe Certification (Required).
* Tech Savvy: High proficiency with Clover POS.
* Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift.
