Description
Looking for a lead cook. Will work with food & beverage managers and help prepare ordering inventory, working with existing staff for food preps. Help designing daily specials, teaching staff proper preparation for consistent plates and portions.

Must have a Food Handler Certificate. Proserve would be beneficial as well.

Below are The Cove responsibilities for all of the cook staff.

Core Responsibilities

Food Preparation: Wash, chop, slice, mix, measure ingredients, and prepare dishes from scratch.
Cooking: Cook meals using various methods (grill, fry, bake, steam) according to established recipes.
Quality Control: Check ingredient freshness and ensure final dishes meet quality, portion, and presentation standards.

Sanitation & Hygiene: Keep workstations, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized, adhering to health codes.

Inventory & Stock: Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory (FIFO), and report shortages for ordering supplies.
Daily Tasks

Set up workstations with all necessary tools and ingredients before service.

Cook and assemble dishes during service, paying attention to detail and presentation.

Assist other kitchen staff and potentially supervise kitchen helpers.

Handle opening/closing duties for their station, including thorough cleaning.

Key Skills & Environment

Work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure.

Follow recipes accurately for consistency.

Strong teamwork and communication with front-of-house and other cooks.

Understand and implement food safety and sanitation guidelines.
