Position Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Shipping & Inventory Coordinator to support a specialized warehouse operation involving the transfer and management of inventory resources. This role combines hands-on warehouse operations with strict administrative, security, and inventory control procedures.
The successful candidate will assist with the transfer and organization of 377 titles across approximately 5,200 square feet of warehouse resources, ensuring all materials are accurately tracked, securely handled, and properly shipped.
Key Responsibilities
Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations within the warehouse environment.
Perform cycle counts, reconciliation, and inventory tracking using computerized systems.
Operate reach trucks safely and efficiently to move and store inventory.
Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments using courier platforms.
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of controlled or serialized inventory items.
Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards and security protocols.
Assist in warehouse organization, inventory transfers, and material handling.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely shipping and accurate inventory records.
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must clearly demonstrate :
Reach Truck Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on reach truck operation (counterbalance forklift experience alone will not qualify).
Inventory Control Experience: Minimum 2 years managing inventory including cycle counts and reconciliation using a computerized system.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
Safety Equipment: Must own and wear CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots from Day 1.
Valid Driver’s License: Class 5 Driver’s License required.
Background Check: Must obtain a Level 1 Criminal Record Check (EPS or RCMP).
Preferred / Asset Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will be highly considered:
Experience with GP Dynamics, Shipping Manager Database, or MOVES systems.
Familiarity with courier shipping platforms such as Loomis and Purolator.
Experience handling controlled or high-value inventory (e.g., lottery tickets, cannabis, serialized secure goods).
Participation in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Committees or experience working under “Working Alone” safety policies.
Work Environment
On-site warehouse environment in Edmonton
Role includes physical labor, equipment operation, and administrative inventory management
