Position Overview
AgZone Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice or Journeyman Agricultural Service Technician to join our service team in Vermilion, Alberta. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment to ensure customers’ machinery operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent service to farmers and agricultural professionals.

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural equipment, including tractors, skid steers, hay and forage equipment, and other farm machinery.
• Perform field calls and service work with mobile service truck.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and preventative service on equipment.
• Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine repairs as required.
• Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Communicate effectively with the service manager, parts department, and customers regarding repair timelines and equipment status.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with new equipment and technologies.

Qualifications
• Experience working with agricultural, heavy equipment, or diesel machinery preferred.
• Minimum second-year apprentice preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum; higher classes considered an asset). With a clean 5-year driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak agricultural seasons.
• Criminal Record Check required, due to training in the USA (must be able to travel abroad).

Preferred Skills
• Agricultural equipment service experience.
• Familiarity with modern diagnostic software and electronic systems.
• Journeyman technician certification or equivalent experience is an asset.
• Respectful, positive, and flexible attitude.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in shops and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working around heavy machinery.
