About Us
Canada Super Spelling Bee is a Canadian not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and popularizing Spelling Bee across Canada. Through vocabulary building, learning, and competition, our programs help children deepen their understanding of history, culture, science, biology, medicine, and various other disciplines. This foundation greatly supports students in their future career choices and high school/university education, providing lifelong benefits.
Course Details
Spelling Bee Program:
Students are grouped into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels based on age and spelling proficiency. Instruction focuses on word origins, word families, roots, and affixes, enabling students to quickly master vocabulary memorization techniques, expand their vocabulary, and improve reading comprehension.
English Grammar & Writing Intensive Program:
Students are grouped into beginner and intermediate levels based on grade and writing ability. Instruction focuses on fundamental grammar points, sentence accuracy, and paragraph coherence, combined with various writing techniques to enhance overall writing skills.
French Grammar, Reading & Writing Intensive Program:
As French is a second language for most students, we offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels based on grade and French proficiency. Instruction emphasizes grammar while strengthening reading comprehension, ultimately enabling students to write excellent essays and improve overall French proficiency.
Scratch Programming Course / Club:
Students will set up the Scratch programming environment, become familiar with the Scratch interface, gain a foundational understanding of computer programs, and learn to write simple to more complex code. The course covers the three basic programming structures (sequence, loop, condition), Scratch drawing techniques, understanding and using variables and events, the 2D coordinate system in Scratch, and building 3-4 Scratch game projects.
Debate & Public Speaking – Future Leaders Program / Club:
Students will become familiar with different speech types and their applications, encouraging exploration beyond their comfort zones. Through competitions, students will learn formal speech types such as impromptu speaking, persuasive speaking, interpretive reading, and parliamentary debate. They will adopt various parliamentary debate structures used in high school and university competitions, with a focus on enhancing logical and critical thinking skills. Each class introduces topics related to current social issues, arts and culture, biological sciences, the human environment, public policy, and international relations.
Singapore Mathematics Program:
Singapore Math truly integrates the best of Eastern and Western approaches (combining the practice from Chinese-style problem-solving with the exploratory nature of Western math education). Based on a framework of Understanding – Modeling – Problem Solving, it helps students represent problems intuitively for clearer solutions. The program emphasizes both knowledge acquisition and the development of exploration and problem-solving abilities.
Waterloo Math Contest Preparation Program:
The Waterloo Series Mathematics Competitions, also known as the Canadian Mathematics Competitions, are official Canadian math contests covering grades 7 through 12. Established in 1963 and with a history of over 60 years, these contests are organized by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo. The University of Waterloo, founded in 1957, has consistently ranked among the top comprehensive universities in Canada by Maclean's magazine. It is home to the only Faculty of Mathematics in Canada, which is also the largest mathematics faculty in North America and the world. Due to the University of Waterloo's strong reputation and tradition in mathematics, as well as the rigor and professionalism of the Euclid contest standards, results from these competitions are widely recognized by Canadian and American universities, often regarded as the "math TOEFL" in Canada.
Contest Features:
A wide variety of competition types suitable for students of different ages.
Relatively accessible difficulty levels, ideal for students interested in math competitions but who may not be exceptionally advanced.
Significant influence within Canadian universities, especially the Euclid contest results.
Some questions are designed to test analytical and logical reasoning skills.
STEAM Research & Paper Writing Program:
Led by professors and PhD researchers from The Ohio State University, students will explore topics in science, technology, arts, and mathematics. This 10-session course includes 5 hours of group mentoring and 5 hours of one-on-one sessions with professors and researchers to complete a research paper. Upon completion, student papers will be published in professional academic journals in the United States.
Our Instructors
CSSB classes are taught by experienced, professional instructors in a lively and engaging atmosphere. All classes are small to ensure effective interaction. Each session begins with an assessment, includes homework, and maintains open communication between teachers and parents. Instructors provide timely feedback on assignments, and the semester concludes with a final exam or competition. Students receive report cards and certificates of completion.
The online registration system is now open. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
