About the Role

Glenview Iron & Metal is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Draining Station Technician to join our recycling center team in Smiths Falls. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and environmentally compliant removal of all hazardous fluids and materials from end-of-life vehicles prior to further processing. Your work ensures that vehicles meet quality and safety standards, supporting both smooth operations and our environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently drain all fluids from vehicles, including gasoline, oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid and win into designated storage or recycling containers.
• Identify, manage, and extract other hazardous materials such as freon, battery, and (when required) EV batteries.
• Extract valuable components like catalytic converters and other parts for recycling.
• Adhere to company, provincial and local health, safety, and environmental regulations governing hazardous waste and materials management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; perform minor maintenance or report issues promptly.
• Follow protocols and procedures set out by Glenview Iron & Metal

Qualifications

· Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Experience in metal recycling or industrial environments is an asset.

· Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components is preferred

· Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

· Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

· Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
