Glenview Iron and Metal is seeking a General Laborer / Torching to join our Smiths Falls location team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting material to proper sizes safely using a variety of processing methods such as but not limited to:
• Oxygen / Acetylene Tanks
• Oxygen / Propane Tanks
• Plasma Cutter
• Chop Saw
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Process oversized material received in the Smiths Falls location to smaller sizes. This will include cutting of Number 1 Steel, Plate and Structure Steel.2
• Follow all Glenview Iron and Metal safety guidelines in the performance of all job duties, assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Responsible for reporting any and all safety and environmental issues immediately to supervisor.
• Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and working in a variety of work and weather conditions.
The Individual we are seeking:
• Experience operating numerous pieces of equipment including but not limited to Skid Steer, Loader.
• Maintain an acceptable level of attendance.
• Applicant must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude for this FAST-PACED industry.
• Experience in scrap metal is useful but not necessary as the foundation of Glenview Iron & Metal is employee training, engagement and growth.
• A trustworthy, self-starter who is team and goal oriented is required!
