For sale is an antique cabinet phonograph “Columbia Grafonola” (circa 1920s). This two piece unit is constructed from solid OAK wood, and is in functional order! The “Columbia Grafonola” was produced by the “Columbia Graphophone Company” in the early 20th century, primarily between 1915 and 1925. These floor-standing phonographs were designed to play 78 RPM records and featured internal horn mechanisms, representing a significant advancement in home audio technology. The oak cabinet construction with decorative molding was typical of the period's furniture aesthetics, allowing the phonograph to serve as both an entertainment device and a piece of fine furniture. Columbia was one of the leading phonograph manufacturers of the era, competing directly with Victor Talking Machine Company.
