Our lawn care and tree service company is looking for an individual passionate about keeping a manicured landscape, working with an arborist as a grounds crew member and being able to keep tools and equipment well maintained.

The individual will be responsible for performing small landscape projects, assisting the arborist in tree work on the ground, providing regular maintenance on chainsaws and other power tools, occasionally assisting with planting shrub and flower beds and performing lawn care services, clean-ups of lawns and garden beds.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about working outdoors and creating an aesthetic appeal to a landscaped environment by performing minor landscape duties. We provide weekly lawn care services, small landscape and garden projects, pruning and tree removals to residential and commercial clients, primarily aiming to deliver high-quality service to create and upkeep a manicured appearance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM
Cut grass, trim edges, clean up clippings, blow trimmings, and perform other lawn care duties as directed.
Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material to assist with minor landscape duties.
Install sod, including levelling and laying.
Assist arborist with groundwork, including cleaning up branches, stacking firewood and feeding the chipper.
Operate power equipment including (but not limited to) lawnmowers, ride-on mowers (Walker), grass trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, wood chippers, and stump grinders.
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on tools such as chain saws and lawn mowing equipment.
Perform sharpening of chain saws and other cutting tools.
Operate truck and trailer with lawn care, and stump grinder equipment, as well as plant material supplies.

Qualifications and Skills
1-2 years of experience in lawn care maintenance and tree work preferred.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Time management and task-oriented.
AB - Must have a Class 5 Driver’s license in good standing.

Additional Requirements:
Candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record will be given preference.
Capable of operating required equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
Ability to work independently with little supervision and as a part of a team.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
