Food Production Line Supervisor
Description
We are seeking for a Production Supervisor to support our client in food manufacturing operations in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will coordinate production team members operating line machines to produce and package the products, while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities:
*Lead the production team on multiple lines.
*Lead by example and train, develop, and inspire production team.
*Be instrumental in developing a high-performance team where all team members work coherently to “win” together.
*Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
*Develop plans for efficient use of material, machines, and labor.
*Responsible to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for the line.
*Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
*Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
*Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
*Maintains time and production records.
*Confer with shift leaders and coordinates production to ensure product is ready per customer requirements.
*Observe all safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
*Operate filler and downstream when required.
*Maintain strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
*Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
*Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
*Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
*Experience in food manufacturing or processing, including supervising large teams (60–80 employees per shift).
*Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and quality standards.
*Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
*Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
*Flexible to work all shifts, including on-call availability.
*Comfortable in moderately noisy and cold environments
*Basic mechanical aptitude and computer skills are a plus.
