3 Year Old Australian Shepherd
Description
Unfortunately we have made a very difficult decision to rehome our beautiful blue Merle 3 year old Australian Shepherd, Ozzy.
He needs a home where he has room to run and someone who is willing to keep up with his training and be patient with him. He is reactive with other dogs and strangers. He has never bitten a dog or a person, however he has lunged and snapped at both. He did a 4 week board and train with e collar training last year in February and it was very helpful to control his leash reactivity, however it has been extremely difficult to keep up with the training with 2 small children at home so he has reverted back to his reactive tendencies. He does really well with commands when triggers aren’t present such as heel, place, down, stay, break. He does play well with dogs at his doggy daycare-he just needs the right environment
Unfortunately with small children and other dogs constantly around we can no longer risk something escalating that would put both sides in danger. Ozzy would be best suited for a home where he has acreage to run, and older or no children. We would also love for him to go to a home with someone who has experience with Australian Shepherds and reactivity, and could keep up with his e-collar training. He really is such a sweet boy once he warms up to you, he loves attention, snuggles and kisses. He is good with cats but does chase them, and I think he would do good in a home with other dogs as well as long as it’s a slower introduction. Up to date on his vaccines
If you’re interested in adopting Ozzy, please text 604-819-6516 with a little about yourself and any questions, serious inquiries only please.
