A private, four-person family in Forest Hill is seeking a professional, experienced Home Chef and Housekeeper to oversee the day-to-day operations of well-run household. The role includes house management, housekeeping, laundry, cooking, etc. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive individual—or an exceptional two-person team or “house couple” with complementary skills—who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized home while creating a seamless, supportive living environment.
The family enjoys a wide range of cuisines and is looking for a cook or chef who can prepare nutritious, health-conscious meals and perform daily housekeeping and laundry.

The ideal candidate (or team) is intuitively helpful, respectful of personal space, and brings a positive, energetic, and solutions-oriented approach to their work. This position requires the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be “quietly confident,” self-directed, and able to anticipate needs while maintaining a calm and organized presence in the home.

Position Details
• Full-time, permanent (not live-in)
• Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (negotiable)
• Occasional evenings, weekends, and schedule adjustments may be requested
• Option for up to 2 months of travel with the family (within Canada, during the summer)
• Role structure may be adapted for a two-person team or house couple, depending on experience and division
of responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen & Meal Preparation
• Prepare daily dinners and snacks based on dietary needs and family preferences
• Prepare nutritious, family-style meals
• Grocery shop and manage pantry and refrigerator inventory
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including appliances (fridge, oven, BBQ)
• Manage dishwashing and kitchen clean-up

Housekeeping & Laundry
• Perform daily and weekly housekeeping to maintain a clean, tidy, and organized home
• Laundry management, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and wardrobe organization
• Change bed linens and maintain bedrooms and bathrooms
• General tidying, organization, and upkeep of all household spaces and cars
Household Management & Organization
• Oversee trash and recycling
• Monitor and manage household inventory and supplies
• Coordinate and assist with household organization projects
• Perform minor repairs/maintenance (if able) and/or coordinate and supervise vendors
• Develop and maintain household systems (seasonal organization, etc.)
• Care for indoor plants

Family & Administrative Support
• Assist with planning and coordinating events (e.g., birthdays, holidays)

Child Interaction
While this is not a childcare role, the candidate (or team) will interact regularly with two children and should model a
positive, respectful, and supportive presence, contributing to a warm family environment.

• Polished, professional, and highly discreet
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently (or collaboratively as part of a team)
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Respectful of boundaries and committed to maintaining confidentiality
• Flexible and adaptable to changing needs
• Valid driver’s license required
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Comfortable completing a background check
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a home chef and/or housekeeper

Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive salary, commensurate with experience (structured appropriately for an individual or couple)
• Starting with 2-4 weeks paid vacation, increasing over time
• Additional time off in lieu of overtime (often aligned with family travel periods such as Christmas, March
Break, and summer)

Start Date
Negotiable for full/part-time May – September
Full-time required as of September 2026
