Admiral Glass Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Glazier to join our organization. Duties
Determine type of glass, frames and material required
Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Measure, mark and cut glass
Position and secure panes in frame
Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products
Install door, window and other hardware
Instruct apprentices
Repair glass doors and other glass structures
Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment
Transport cases of glass
Estimate costs and materials
Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
Facilitate and engage in team-based on-the-job learning activities

Experience & Education
Required: Completion of Secondary School
Required: Written and verbal communication in English
Minimum 3 years experience in this kind of role. Experience with materials and activities noted below:

Acrylic plexiglass
Float glass
Mirrors
Sealed units

Frame fabrication and installation
Curtain wall (stock length material)
Curtain wall (prefabricated material)
Spandrel panel installations
Aluminum framing members
Entranceways

Glass cutting equipment and techniques
Self-lubricating cutters
Circular cutters
Cut glass plate manually (straight cuts)
Cut glass plate free-hand (curved cuts)
Laminate glass

Installations
Skylights and slope glazed installations
Curtain walls
Aluminum storefronts, barrel vaults, solariums, commercial window systems
Overhead automatic doors
Shower doors and tub enclosures
Display cases
Walls and other interior areas (i.e. partitions)

Equipment
Carbide and diamond bits
Brass tube bits
