Description
(NOT A COLT STARTING PROGRAM)

If your horse has the basics down but needs a real job before heading back to the arena for finishing, this is the opportunity for you. Whether you are short on time, or your horse is a bit "too much" (reactive, spooky, or high-energy) for your current confidence level, let’s get them to work.

The Environment

Your horse will be part of a 2,400-head grazing operation on 17,500 acres of diverse terrain. We ride through open grassland, thick forest, lakes, and boggy marshlands. Beyond daily cattle work, your horse will be exposed to the realities of the bush—all sorts of little critters, to big ones like wolves, elk, moose, bears, and the occasional ruffed grouse popping up underfoot.

What Your Horse Will Grasp and Handle:

• Solid Foundation: Standing quietly in a stall for saddling and being easy to catch in large paddocks.

• Hauling: Frequent trailer loading and traveling between herds throughout the day.

• Independence & Stamina: Learning to travel alone away from other horses and "legging up" for full days of work.

• Cattle Handling: Moving herds alongside working dogs and walking calmly through gathered cattle for attentive checking.

• Ranch Skills: Building fundamentals in roping, tying off, and doctoring cows, calves, and bulls.

• Technical Riding: Navigating thick brush, deadfall, water crossings, and boggy ground.

• Sorting: Splitting herds in open pasture, pulling pulls and sorting in corrals.

Rate & Contact

I charge based on the work put in, not just the time spent in the barn or grazing in the pasture. These horses are put to real work and receive necessary rest days to stay sound and sharp.

• Rate: $1,000 per 30 days.
• Extras: Farrier services are available at an additional cost.

If you want your horse to experience the real deal and learn to handle any situation with a level head, contact me here or call 1-306-570-2172.
I look forward to working with you and your horse!
