Livestock Guardian Puppies
Description
Looking for reliable protection for your herd? We have a litter of puppies born on March 9th, specifically bred for life as working guardians.
Both parents are active guardians on our farm, demonstrating the intelligence and independence required to manage predators. The mother is a Kangal, and the father is a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd cross. This combination results in large, hardy dogs with a deep-seated instinct for livestock bond and territory protection.
Puppies will be ready for their new homes at 10 weeks old (starting May 18th). This ensures they have proper social development with their mother and littermates before starting their new roles. At our farm the puppies have had exposure to Chickens, Turkeys, Pigs, Cattle and cats.
Includes:
Initial health check
First set of shots
Standard deworming
At 10 weeks, these puppies are at a prime age to begin bonding with the specific livestock they will eventually protect. It is recommended to keep them in a secure area adjacent to your animals to foster that bond while they continue to grow.
There are 5 girls and 4 boys to choose from. You can reply to this ad or email info@rusticrootsfarm.ca to arrange a time to meet the litter.
If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out.
