Carpenter — Residential Renovation (Winnipeg)

Pay: $27–$32/hr based on experience

About us

De Vries Construction & Renovation is a Winnipeg-based, family-run renovation company with BBB accreditation, RenoMark and MHBA memberships, and a Gold Award for our work. We're not a high-volume shop. We do quality residential renovations — basements, kitchens, bathrooms, additions, exteriors — for homeowners who care about getting it done right. The owner is on the tools and on the phone. You'll work directly with him.

The role

We're hiring an experienced carpenter who can show up, read a scope, and run a job site independently. You'll move between projects — a basement reno one month, a kitchen the next, a deck or siding job after that. No two weeks look the same. If you're the kind of carpenter who's bored doing one thing and proud of work that holds up, you'll fit here.

A typical week could include:

Framing walls, ceilings, soffits
Drywall, taping, mudding, painting
Finish carpentry — base, case, crown, built-ins
Doors and windows (interior and exterior)
Flooring — hardwood, LVT, laminate, tile
Cabinetry installation
Tile work — floors, kitchens, bathrooms, showers
Basic plumbing and electrical (the stuff that doesn't need a license)
Exterior work — decks, fences, siding, soffit/fascia
What we need from you

5 years of verifiable residential renovation experience
Ability to run a job site solo with minimal supervision
Own tools, steel-toed boots, safety gear
Reliable vehicle, valid Class 5 license, insurance
Clean criminal record
High school diploma
Good English communication — you'll be on-site with our clients
The physical capacity for full-day site work
