Sunblaster T5 Kratky Hydroponic Kit
Description
Sunblaster T5 Kratky Hydroponic Kit
High-output T5 designed for indoor gardening, includes 6400K full-spectrum bulb, built-in ballast, power cord with switch and Nanotech reflector. Primarily used for seedling propagation for 2 seasons and growing a few crops of cilantro, basil, micro greens and very nice leaf lettuce. I had 2 T5 on a ikea book shelf with reflective mylar hanging on all 4 sides (mylar curtains made from used chip bags works). I know you can do plenty with 1 as that is how I started making crops of micro greens, arugula etc.
Nanotech Reflector increases light output by up to 48%, maximizing light penetration into the plant canopy.
Remaining fertilizer only for showing the type that I used.. recommend using fresh 2 part system for kratky. Coffee Mate containers and pudding cups are to demonstrate what I used rather than buying expensive plastic kit with crazy expensive mesh pots that are unstable anyway. My solution is rock solid and dirt cheap! I grew basil 4 feet high in one of those sitting in my window, and that's after trimming it 3 times!
Includes a large 45 liter Sterilite lid lock container with 8 plant sites that are cut to fit same size pots as the Coffee Mate containers. I used that to grow 4 massive cherry tomato plants on my deck kratky style. I think I only had to top up the nutrient solution 2 or 3 times so pretty low maintenance and the tomatoes were larger than the same variety I grew in the ground. An air pump with tubing and air stone is used to splash water droplets up to moisten the cuttings.. takes a few days before they recover from transplant shock and start growing roots enough to reach the solution in the reservoir... after that you don't need to run the pump any more. (read up on air roots and kratky system) The ground coir is too fine for kratky but I include it anyway.
