Position: Excavator Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating excavators on residential, commercial, and civil construction projects while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Responsibilities

* Operate excavators safely and efficiently on job sites
* Perform trenching, grading, digging, backfilling, and loading operations
* Follow site plans, grades, and supervisor instructions
* Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
* Work closely with site supervisors and ground crews
* Maintain clean and organized work areas
* Identify underground utilities and operate equipment carefully around services

Requirements

* Minimum 3 years of excavator operating experience
* Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
* Strong knowledge of excavation and grading practices
* Ability to read construction drawings and site grades
* Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Knowledge of safe excavation procedures and site safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

* Heavy Equipment Operator certification
* WHMIS certification
* Working at Heights certification
* Experience with GPS machine control systems
* AZ/DZ license considered an asset
