TWO WHITE COATS, ONE APPLICATION.

Hi! We are Dr. Esther Liu and Dr. Michael Lin, also known as White Coat Duo, a physician couple mentorship service for high school pre-medical students and for medical school applicants navigating the secondary application cycle.

We are physicians in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology training, with clinical and academic training across Duke, UCLA, Weill Cornell, and the University of Virginia, and current residency positions at Harvard and Maryland institutions.

During the medical school application process, Dr. Esther Liu received 20 interviews from Top 20 U.S. medical schools, along with interviews from UBC, McGill, and University of Toronto, reflecting a broad and highly competitive applicant experience across both U.S. and Canadian systems.

We created White Coat Duo to offer a dual-physician perspective on applications—focused on clarity, narrative strength, and strategic positioning during the secondary season.

Each application is reviewed independently by both physicians, then synthesized into a structured feedback report with clear, actionable recommendations.
