Job title: FULL-TIME HEALTHCARE AIDE FOR A YOUNG ADULT WITH A DISABILITY NW CALGARY (PART-TIME IN SUMMER)
Paid training starting: $23
Starting wage: $24 with incentives
We are looking for a Healthcare Aide/Community Support Worker to support Emily in her home and out in the community. (We will train you in all-things-Emily so that you feel confident in your time with her.)
She is a joyful young lady who enjoys being actively involved in social events, the community and her daily program activities. Some of her programming is happening online. She enjoys Musical Theatre, Concerts, Movies, Books, Dancing, Zumba, Bowling, spending time with her family and socializing with friends. Keeping Emily active and engaged with her community is important.
Qualifications and duties for the position are:
• Experience 1 year of working with people with disabilities
• Good communication skills, organizational skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment, critical thinking skills.
• Personal care (Grooming, bathing, G-tube feeding)
• Mobility assistance - Able to manual lift and use mechanical lift
• Medication administration
• Provide transportation to activities (Emily has her own van)
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid class 5 driver license is required
• Companionship and emotional support
• Must be trustworthy, dependable, punctual, flexible and reliable
• Must have patience, compassion, empathy and respect
• Must be able to work in Canada legally
