Part-Time Clinic Support Assistant – Addiction Medicine

Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 26 hours per week

Position Summary

The Clinic Support Assistant plays an important role in supporting both patients and healthcare providers. As the first point of contact for many patients, you will help create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment while assisting with the daily operations of the clinic.

Responsibilities
* Greet patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner
* Collect, label, and process urine samples according to clinic policies and procedures
* Perform point-of-care urine drug screening tests and accurately document results
* Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all privacy requirements
* Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to general inquiries
* Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
* Register new patients and update patient records
* Assist patients with completing clinic forms and documentation
* Scan, file, and organize medical records and administrative documents
* Maintain accurate information within the clinic's electronic medical record (EMR) system
* Communicate professionally with pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers
* Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment
* Perform other administrative and clinic support duties as required

Qualifications
Required
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
* Comfortable handling biological specimens and performing urine drug screening tests
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Assets
* Previous customer service, reception, or administrative experience
* Experience working in a healthcare, addiction treatment, mental health, or community services setting
* Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
* Experience with point-of-care testing or urine drug screening
* Knowledge of addiction medicine and harm reduction principles
