2007 Volkswagen City Golf 5 speed manual
Description
This car was a gift to me, however it's just been sitting and I don't have the means to keep it.
The car will not currently pass a safety inspection. This is due to a crack right at the base of the exhaust manifold where it connects to the motor. If the air is on, it will pull trace amounts of carbon monoxide through the cabin air filter. Additionally, when starting the car after it sat for a while, it will need to turn over for about 3-5 seconds, let off, turn the key again, and then it will start. This is supposedly due to faulty O² sensors that are either broken or malfunctioning due to the exhaust leak, or the absence of a catylic converter. This is also the reason the check engine light is on. My mechanic warned that the alternator may be on its way out as well, but I have not had any major issues with it yet. (All of this information came from my mechanic)
All that being said, I do have a spare exhaust manifold and alternator (both lightly used) that I'm including with the car. I just don't have the time or money to fix it myself.
The trunk doesn't open, the paint is chipping in certain spots, and theres a nasty rust spot on the right fender. There's also some dents on the front right fender above the tire. I also have a replacement fender I'm including with the car.
I don't know much about the history of the car, but I do know it was mostly highway driven by the previous owner for about 100 000-160 000 kilometers.
Car has brand new winter tires on it. It's really good on fuel despite having an exhaust leak. The sunroof works, aftermarket stereo works, AC works great, super roomy leather backseats and a leather seat cover for the driver. Windshield has no cracks, and it has tinted back windows, It's a great commuter/starter car if you're willing to fix the exhaust manifold.
