Up for Sale is my 1997 Toyota Hilux Surf SSRG. I’m the second Canadian owner after buying off a friend who imported it about 10 years ago. Over the past 8 years of ownership, this vehicle has been well maintained and many parts replaced/ upgraded while using it as my daily driver.
She’s an older vehicle and therefore comes with its imperfections such as some minor surface rust on parts of the body. Clear coat on hood has started to flake, no rust. Frame is in excellent shape and even though it’s a 29 year old vehicle, tons of parts have been replaced. Parts and repairs list will be down below, feel free to ask me questions. I’m sure I’m missing something.

1kz-te inline 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine, 272000km

4X4 works well, however shifting out of 4wd requires manual actuation. Something I’ve been meaning to fix but haven’t had the time. Problem is likely a position sensor of the transfer case.

A/C and heat both work well

Power windows all work except for the right rear window. Tailgate window goes down.

I’m currently selling the vehicle as is without a safety, not 100% sure what it would need but it drives very well for its age and likely wouldn’t need much. Will look into safety but price may go up if I decide to go that route.

This vehicle isn’t for everyone but if you love Toyotas and are looking for something rare, unique and long-lasting this might suit you.
