Banana Bike & Board is a locally owned bike and board lifestyle shop based in Edmonton, Alberta. Formerly Mill Woods Sports & Cycle (est. 1985), we're rebuilding and re-branding into a modern, community-driven shop focused on bikes, snowboards, skis, skateboards, rentals, repairs, and outdoor lifestyle gear — both in-store and online.

We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented E-Commerce Manager & Website Builder to design, launch, and manage our online store from the ground up.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for building, launching, and managing the Banana Bike & Board e-commerce website, ensuring it looks professional, functions smoothly, and converts visitors into customers. This role blends website development, e-commerce operations, and ongoing digital management.

This is a hands-on role with long-term potential as our online sales grow.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and launch a fully functional e-commerce website (Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar)
• Design a clean, on-brand layout aligned with Banana Bike & Board's lifestyle identity
• Upload and manage products (bikes, boards, gear, apparel, rentals, services)
• Set up:
• Online payments
• Shipping rules & local pickup
• Tax settings (Canada-focused)
• Optimize product pages for SEO
• Manage inventory syncing (in-store online where applicable)
• Maintain and update website content, banners, and promotions
• Monitor site performance, sales, and user experience
• Troubleshoot issues and improve conversion rates
• Coordinate with the store owner for product launches and seasonal changes

Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience building and managing e-commerce websites
• Strong knowledge of platforms like:
• Shopify (preferred)
• WooCommerce / WordPress
• Experience with:
• Product uploads & variants
• Online payments & shipping setups
• SEO basics (product & page optimization)
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Clear communication skills

• Experience with bike, snowboard, ski, or action-sports retail
• Graphic design or basic photo editing skills
