We're looking for a kind, patient, and reliable weekend caregiver/companion for Mr. Client, a Filipino older adult living in a 16 Byonge St Downtown Toronto Condo.
Mr. Client has dementia and diabetes. He has strong supports in place:
• A PSW visits twice daily (morning afternoon) for medications
• A nurse visits every other day (wound healing)

Shift needed: From Friday 5:00 PM to Sunday 5:00 PM

What the role is really about
This is primarily companionship and supervision—helping client feel safe, calm, and supported through the weekend.
Main duties
• Companionship & gentle redirection (dementia-aware approach)
• Overnight presence only if needed (he may wake around 1 AM to use the washroom, and may wander sometimes)
• Light cooking / meal support (simple, comforting meals)
• Light tidying (keeping the space comfortable)
• Short walks when safe — on Saturdays he often enjoys walking across the street to Tim Hortons

Additional context (so you know what to expect)
• If there's no snowstorm, family usually comes Friday night to drop off food / ensure dinner is set.
• Saturday: short walk sometimes a visitor may stop by with food.
• Sunday (weather permitting): family may visit in the morning to take him to church and lunch, and return him by mid-afternoon.

Ideal caregiver
• Experienced with dementia care especially wandering/safety (is an asset not mandatory.)
• Calm, caring, dependable, and attentive
• Comfortable with overnight supervision (if necessary)
• PSW experience is an asset (not mandatory, since meds are handled by PSW)
