Broken Plate Greek Restaurant YYC located at 590 – 10816 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB, T2J 5N8 is looking for an English-speaking Executive Chef/Assistant Restaurant Manager to fill a permanent full-time position with at least 30 – 44 hours per week. Hourly wage is $36.50. We offer extensive health, life and dental benefits. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 – 5 years related work experience as a cook/chef with some managerial experience or a combination thereof. Min high school with any post-secondary education in culinary studies an asset. Shift work, long periods of standing during day and nighttime shifts is required. Some but not all of your main duties will include: estimating amount and costs of supplies and food items, supervise activities of other cooks and kitchen workers, prepare and cook meals, arrange for equipment purchases and repairs, knowledge of Greek culinary genre is a must, estimate ingredient and supplies required, ensure food meets quality standards, prepare dishes for customers with food allergies, maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage, plan and control the operations by acting as an Assistant Manager in absence of the Restaurant Manager/owners, monitor staff performance, set staff work schedules, oversee staff training, control inventory, modify procedures if needed, resolve customer complaints. Oversee main duties of 5 – 10 people, mostly kitchen and food service helpers including servers.
