This is a 4-piece (9 foot total), 4 weight Sage Z-Axis rod that is in excellent condition. It’s a high-end fast action rod that hands-down beats slower action rods when casting into the wind yet still allows for delicate presentation of dry flies. It’s quite light in hand and the tip section has a tremendous amount of “feel”. It also has plenty of moxie for fighting bigger fish than you should be targeting with a 4 weight. It comes with a 30 inch aluminum travel/storage case. Very, very nice rod.
This Ross Vexsis is crafted from machined aluminum (6061-T6 proprietary aluminum alloy), making it very lightweight yet incredibly rugged. It has a 1 piece frame and 1 piece removable spool. The spool features Ross’s Magnalock magnetic release system that powerfully pulls the spool onto the frame and securely locks the system via a magnetic system that literally will not fail even after years of use. To remove the spool you simply pull outward; to replace, push inward and the Magnalock system takes over and firmly locks it in place. It sports an excellent Sealed Carbon Drag system that is recognized as being one of the top systems on the market. It is self-lubricating, totally impregnable and impervious to all moisture and dirt making it extremely durable, heat resistant and totally maintenance free. The drag is very responsive and all adjustments are buttery-smooth which can be crucial when fighting strong fish.
