Resident Manager
Description
Responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness of the building inside and outside on a regular basis (hallways, entrances, garbage areas, and surrounding grounds)
• Identify and complete minor repairs, including but not limited to paint touch-ups, drywall repairs, and cleaning of appliances
• Handle tenant issues and disputes in a professional, respectful, and timely manner
• Respond to tenant requests and inquiries within a reasonable timeframe
• Respond to emergencies within and outside regular working hours
• Ensure tenants follow building rules and policies
• Issue and manage FOBs and/or parking access cards, and maintain up-to-date tenant information within the system
• Operate and monitor the building’s security camera system
• Meet with prospective tenants, maintain an up-to-date list of rented and vacant units, conduct unit showings, coordinate viewing schedules, and assign and track parking spaces
• Conduct move-in and move-out inspections
• Perform regular and annual building inspections
• Perform seasonal duties including snow removal and salting of entrances during winter months
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a customer service role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge and experience with the Nova Scotia Residential Tenancies Act is considered an asset
• Comfortable using electronic systems for tracking tenant information and building access
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and email communication
